Coding as entertainment
Here are some live coding streams or video series that I think are entertaining enough to be worth your time:
- Andreas Kling regularly documents new feature development for SerenityOS, a Unix-like operating system inspired by 90s computer interfaces.
- C Programming on System 6 is a series of videos following Joshua Stein as he implements an IMAP email client on his restored and upgraded Macintosh 512ke.
- objc-retain is a weekly Objective-C programming stream using the GNUstep toolchain on free and open source software platforms such as Linux and BSD, in the optic of preserving Objective-C development culture as Apple shifts towards Swift as its main programming language.
- Mark Brown of Game Maker's Toolkit has announced a new series in which he will be developing his first video game from scratch, inspired by the things he's learned about game design since starting his YouTube channel.
