Thoughts on games played
- 12/18: Hookah Haze tried to copy VA-11 HALL-A's homework, but only got it right on the surface. Unlike VA-11 HALL-A, it has nothing particularly interesting to say or for the player to latch onto as a thread to unravel over the course of the game. It's just kind of a predictable, unremarkable story set to some fantastic pixel art and some okay VN music. Maybe my expectations were just really high, but I'm sad I didn't like this as much as I had hoped.
- 4/13: Can't say much about The House in Fata Morgana without spoiling it, because it's one of those games. Can definitely be a difficult read at times, but I'm glad I stuck through it to the end. Experience it as blindly as you can, maybe after checking the content warnings first.
- 4/25: As someone who has fallen off of learning Tekken multiple times, Tekken 8’s heat system brings the extra juice it was missing to captivate me as a casual player. The arcade quest mode is all about convincing some loser edgelord that the important thing in fighting games is having fun with friends and self-expression, no matter how good you are.
